📢📢 Freelancers, listen up: On May 15, the Freelance Isn’t Free Act officially becomes law in New York City. This is a momentous day for independent workers and we’re honored to celebrate this victory with the Freelancers Union (!!!!!!).
The Freelance Isn’t Free Act provides basic protections for freelance work, including mandating contracts and stipulating that payments must be made within thirty days of work completion, or clients may be subject to double damages.
As fierce advocates for the freelance workforce, we created our Standard Freelance Contract with the Freelancers Union to protect all independent workers. The intuitive digital template allows freelancers to create a fair and secure agreement in a matter of minutes, and exists as a living, breathing document that can continuously be improved by the freelance community at-large.
We’re proud to celebrate this important victory with Freelancers Union at the Freelance Isn’t Free Launch Party on May 15 at 10 a.m. at WeWork Fulton Center in New York City.
