When do I pay quarterly taxes?

To calculate your federal quarterly estimated tax payments, you must estimate your adjusted gross income, taxable income, taxes, deductions, and credits for the calendar year 2017.  Form 1040-ES includes an Estimated Tax Worksheet to help you calculate your federal estimated tax payments.

You are required to pay quarterly taxes by the following dates:

Payment Period Due Date

January 1st – March 31st, due date – April 15

April 1st – May 31st, due date – June 15

June 1st – August 31st, due date – September 15

September 1st – December 31st, due date – January 15 of the following year

Keep in mind that You do not have to make the payment due on January 16, 2018, if you file your 2017 tax return by January 31, 2018 and pay the entire balance due with your return.
