You may or may not need to send an invoice for your work as a psychologist, depending on the type of arrangement you have with your clients. If they pay at the time of service, for instance, you do not need to send an invoice. If they do not pay at the time of service, you will need to send an invoice in order to be paid.
When you submit your invoice depends on your policy. For individual psychology sessions, it is common to send an invoice a day or two after the session occurs, or to send an invoice for all of the month’s sessions at the end of the month.
In order to be paid promptly, you must include certain pieces of information in your psychologist invoice. After you submit your invoice, you should receive your payment by the date you specified on your invoice. If you do not receive your payment by this time, check with the client to confirm that your invoice was received. Keep in mind the method of payment you specified, so that you make sure you are looking in the right place for the payment.
