Whether or not you need to send a rent invoice depends on the rental/lease agreements with the tenants in your building. Oftentimes, the lease agreement includes language that specifies what amount should be paid each month and by when, in which case you do not need to send an invoice. Otherwise, you likely need to send an invoice in order to be paid.
Again, this will depend on the particulars of the rental/lease agreement. However, in most cases rent is paid monthly at the beginning of the month.
In order to be paid promptly, you must include certain pieces of information in your rent invoice. These pieces of information are: The name, address, and phone number of the company or individual you are invoicingYour name, address, and phone number (or that of your small business)The current dateThe date by which you expect to be paidYour preferred method of payment A description of the property for which you are requesting rent (this will often simply be the address)The amount that needs to be paid
After you submit your invoice, you should receive your payment by the date you specified on your invoice. If you do not receive your payment by this time, check with the tenants to confirm the invoice was received and when you can expect to receive payment.
